Fresh new look for Essex school

Dowie is thoroughly enjoying working with Walden School, Saffron Walden. Following primary stakeholder group research in January 2016, a new name and brand identity was developed. In addition to the brand change, Dowie handled stakeholder communications and roll out, designed new uniforms - which the pupils are proud to wear (formal and sports outfits for both the senior school and prep school), promotional materials, site signage, minibuses and website overhau. We also brought in interior design experts Loci for a refreshed Reception area.

The purpose of the bold new look was to encourage prospective parents to look again at the school and recognise the confident, and robust education it provides to children from Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and London. As the school has been in the town of Saffron walden for 136 years, Dowie retained the concept of the crocus, but stylised it and introduced a new colour palette and font to better reflect the new confidence and rigour that is evident in the school today.
